It is not often that I write a review about another photographer or website these days. In fact, I have not written a review in about three or four years; not since I was the General Manager and Editor for 1st Responder Newspaper – California Edition. However, when a website catches my eye and forces me to return time after time to view it again and again, I find I am compelled to write about what I have discovered and share with the masses. Such is the case of Jackie Pinto Photography.
Upon your first encounter at Jackie’s website you know that your eyes and your brain are in for a treat. It was the second photo in the slide show (photo above/left) that grabbed me and wouldn’t let go. Jackie’s great eye for composition and editing caught the essence of this mom and her daughter.
Jackie’s entire website is filled with photographs of the same quality; stunningly composed, and
skillfully presented. Jackie’s style is most certainly the candid photo. However, there is a unique characteristic of her candid photographs, 99.9% are spot on crisp and clear, with emphasis on the eyes of her subjects. All of her collections and galleries will captivate your attention.
Jackie displays her photos using the services of SmugMug, a Mountain View, CA company that is run hands-on by the MacAskill family. They have put a lot of time and effort in to really simple ideas about storing and displaying photographs. The results are spectacularly displayed websites of some of the most beautiful photographs on earth.
The team at Photo Print Review, in their 2010 article stated,” This photo sharing service merits a spot as one of the best in the world. Unlimited photos, unlimited storage, no spam, no ads, easy uploads and easy sharing — these are just a few of the SmugMug trademarks.”
Since Jackie is a SmugMug Pro user she has complete control over the look and feel of her photography website. The back-end shopping cart is also handled by SmugMug allowing photographers to concentrate on making photographs, not building web sites.
Your time will be well spent by taking a short detour on the road of your busy lives and stop by for a breath of fresh air at Jackie Pinto Photography.
I want to thank my friend Hillary Shemin (PhotosByHillary) for the heads up on Facebook about this site, with a recent posting.
